  4. Step-4: On the successful application and payment submission, the applicant is required to send the supporting documents to NSDL through courier or post. Documents required To Apply for PAN Card Online

1. Identity proof documents (Any of One):

  • Voter identity card
  • Ration card having photograph of the applicant
  • Passport
  • Driving licence
  • Arm’s license
  • Aadhaar card by UADAI
  • Photo identity card issued by the Central Government or State Government or a PSU
  • Pensioner Card
  • Central Government Health Scheme Card or Ex-servicemen Contributory Heath Scheme photo card
  • Certificate of identity in original signed by a Member of Parliament or Member of Legislative Assembly or Municipal Councillor or a Gazetted Officer, as the case may be
  • Bank certificate in original on letter from the branch head, containing duly attested photograph and bank account number of the applicant

  • Latest Bills not older then 3 months
    • Electricity bill
    • Landline telephone or broadband connection bill
    • Water bill
    • Consumer gas connection card or book or piped gas bill
  • Bank account statement
  • Depository account statement
  • Credit card statement
  • Copy of post office pass book having address of the applicant
  • Passport of self or spouse
  • Voter ID card
  • Latest property tax assessment order
  • Driving license
  • Domicile certificate issued by the Government
  • Aadhaar card by UIDAI
  • Allotment letter of accommodation issued by the Central Government or State Government of not more than three years old

3. Date of Birth Proof:

  • Birth certificate issued by the Municipal Authority

Charges To Apply PAN Card Online

For Indian citizens, applying for a new PAN card costs Rs. 116 including GST (plus online payment gateway charges of around Rs. 5). The fee is Rs. 1,020 including GST for foreign citizens (Rs. 5 online payment gateway charges).

Once you have paid the required charges, you have to authenticate via Aadhaar OTP, or submit documents via e-sign, or to physically send the documents to NSDL. You will also receive an acknowledgement mail from NSDL about your application and your PAN card will be couriered to you once the application has been processed. Keep the acknowledgement number safe or save that for further tracking and requirements.
